Here’s a new something that’s got me, real, real excited.
It’s been a few years since The Cradle was optioned, and after a few different Hollywood lives and a few different setups, things have circled back a bit, as they are wont to do in that industry. I’ve been hired by the producers to write the screenplay, mostly because I’ve had a little more experience with film and TV of late, and I’m going back to the world of Matt, Marissa, Renee, and young Joe. It feels good! I’ll be sure to post news as it comes down the pike, friends; there should be a bit more to come. For now, EXT. WISCONSIN HIGHWAY.
Posting this here to commemorate my realization that I am basically the same as the guy from Darkon.
Happy holidays, everyone.
I just found out there was a facebook mail folder labeled “Other.” Be careful when you go there.
"There is something terrifying about meeting writers and liking them — drinking with them, realizing you come from the same part of the world, realizing you are interested in similar things, and that you probably like the same books — and then having to go home, get their book, read it, and hope to fuck you enjoy it."
Here is the problem when the wrong cultural and commercial conditions are in place: the answer is “nobody.” Which is an infuriating answer, and one that—not to mention—the mainstream media, by virtue of being the mainstream media, is simply unequipped to articulate.
